Oregon, Humboldt and UCSC coming to West Coast College Open

The latest team roster for the upcoming Sixth Annual West Coast College Open on November 11-13 will feature the reining 2011 collegitate champions from the University of Oregon as well as long-time rival UC Santa Cruz.

27 Concrete Tee Pads Ready For Pro World Championship

The last of the 27 concrete tee pads are now in place on both the Oaks and Cypress courses in preparation for the 2011 Pro Disc Golf World Championship in August (see more pictures on Facebook).

CSUMB Finishes 10th at 2011 National Championship

Ninth-ranked CSUMB saved their best for last to finish in 10th place at the 2011 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championship near Augusta, Georgia.

The day prior, junior Brandon White finished in a tie for 10th place in the individual medal play out of 152 students. White also won the inaugural National Collegiate Putting Championship, one of many skills competitions held during the week.

First Four Concrete Tee Pads Poured For Worlds

The first four concrete tee pads have appeared on Cypress on the Stancil Courses at Cal State Monterey Bay.

A projected 27 will be available in time for the August tournament, when the 2011 Pro Disc Golf World Championships begins on the Monterey Bay. Cypress and Oaks will be combined as one course and used as one of the four championship courses during the tournament.

#9 CSUMB Returns to National Championship in Georgia

The Cal State Monterey Bay Disc Golf team leaves Tuesday morning for the 2011 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships in Augusta, Georgia.

They enter the 36-team tournament ranked #9 in the nation. Other West Coast schools ranked are the University of Oregon (#2), UC Santa Cruz (#16), San Diego State (#20), California Baptist (#23), Pasadena City College (#30), and the University of the Pacific (#41).

The site includes descriptions of all the courses, including Oaks on the Stancil Courses at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Oaks Course Parking Lot Closed

The free parking lot next to the Oaks Course has been closed by the University Police Department.

The club will still be able to open and use it for scheduled tournaments, such as the West Coast College Open (fall) and the upcoming CSUMB Otter Open.

Tee Pad Construction Begins for 2011 Worlds

The first signs of construction of concrete tee pads have appeared on the Stancil Courses at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Yesterday (1/19/2011) a team lead by Kinesiology instructor and CSUMB Disc Golf team coach, Merle Witvoet, began construction of 27 concrete tee pads for the 2011 Professional World Disc Golf Championships in August.

2011 CSUMB Otter Open set for Feb. 19-20

The 13th Annual CSUMB Otter Open will be held on the weekend of February 19-20, 2011.

This tournament is for professional and recreation disc golf players and is part of the NorCal series. It is sanction by the Professional Disc Golf Association and rated a Tier B event.
