The last of the 27 concrete tee pads are now in place on both the Oaks and Cypress courses in preparation for the 2011 Pro Disc Golf World Championship in August (see more pictures on Facebook).

The last eleven holes went in their frames on one of the warmest days of the year, which made smoothing and texturing a challenge. In the end, the Cal State Monterey Bay campus now has championship-level tee pads that will attract "major" disc golf tournaments for years to come.

Along with Monterey's Ryan Ranch disc golf course, the Peninsula is now ready to show off its meteoric rise to the championship tournament level when the Pro Worlds begin on Tuesday August 9, with the Open Men division, featuring the best players in the world.

Special thanks to Coach and lecturer Merle Witvoet, Anthony DeMears, Paul Schlagel and CSUMB alum Tony Burciaga for their help making this course a reality.
